There’s nowhere else in Birmingham like Orelle. From its 24th-floor perch, the city spreads out into a suburban horizon that’s especially magical when evening falls, becoming a latticework of distant twinkling lights. Inside, the deep blue colour palette works nicely against velvet peach booths fanning out like sea shells and the pops of Jewellery Quarter-inspired gold.
The contemporary French cuisine is well presented and the lounge’s sizable glass cabinet contains over 200 quality wines. The delicate 36-day dry-aged filet with miso glazed carrots and potato purée is sublime and the dessert trolley that follows, while slightly performative, is an endearing touch.
